Certified Professional Training Courses

In conjunction with the 2018 Wildlife Expo, the National Wildlife Control Operators Association (NWCOA) is offering Certified Professional Training Courses for technicians. After successful completion of any course, the student will receive credentials, use of the logo mark in marketing materials and a certificate of completion.

 

 

 

Monday, January 29 & Tuesday, January 30

NWCOA Certified Basic Wildlife Control Operator Training Course
NWCOA Master Instructors and Certified NWCOA Instructors

The NWCOA Certified Basic Wildlife Control Operator Training Course will be offered by NWCOA to train new and current WCOs that perform wildlife management services in or on residential and commercial properties. This course is a two day, hands-on classroom style training course taught by Master NWCOA Instructors and Certified NWCOA Instructors. Course topics include bats, birds, squirrels and other commonly encountered problem species, animal biology, animal handling, euthanasia, inspection, safety, and more. Upon successful completion of this course and a test, the WCO will receive a certificate of completion, use of the logo mark in marketing materials and become a Certified Basic Wildlife Control Operator.

NWCOA Advanced Wildlife Control Operator Training Course 
NWCOA Certified Instructors

The NWCOA Certified Advanced Wildlife Control Operator Training Course will be offered by NWCOA to train established WCOs that perform wildlife management services in or on residential and commercial properties. This course is a two day, in depth look at topics central to professional operation of a wildlife management company.  It is structured as a practical, case study classroom style training course taught by Master NWCOA Instructors and Certified NWCOA Instructors. Technical course topics include: advanced inspection and exclusion, advanced removal techniques and tools, specialty species information on bats, venomous and non-venomous snakes and reptiles, as well as ground squirrels, moles, voles and commensal rodents, and advanced discussion of zoonotics.  Management topics include: advanced safety, sales and marketing, and business management practices.  Upon successful completion of this course and a test, the WCO will receive a certificate of completion, use of the logo mark in marketing materials and become a Certified Advanced Wildlife Control Operator.  Prerequisite: Participants must hold a current NWCOA Basic Wildlife Operator Certification or pass the Basic Wildlife Control Operator test online (for a fee of $100) prior to attending the Advanced Wildlife Control Operator class.  For more information, please call NWCOA at 855/Go-NWCOA.

Avitrol Certification Course

Avitrol’s Certification Course is geared towards equipping technicians to treat even the most difficult bird problems! The course provides both educational and practical strategies for implementing successful bird control techniques. This is a single-day, interactive training that begins with an introduction to understanding bird problems, discussing difficulties in bird management, and the treatment options available. In this course, you will learn how to: Communicate the importance of bird management to clients, Market bird control for your region, Combat negative perceptions in bird control, Identify best treatment practices based on the bird species, Generate new bird leads, Price bird jobs, Utilize technology in bird control, and Mitigate risk for sensitive job sites.

At the completion of this course, you will become an Avitrol Certified Applicator, be issued an applicator ID number, and be given a certificate of completion. This will also enroll you in the Avitrol VIP Membership program, and provide you with exclusive, early access to new products and services! NWCOA Bat Standards Compliant Training Course
Certified NWCOA Instructors

The NWCOA Bat Standards will be offered by NWCOA to aid in the survival and future of bats in the North America, as well as educate those who perform bat exclusion services in residential and commercial structures. The Bat Standards Certified Course (Part 1) covers bat biology (little brown bat, big brown bat, freetailed bats, and pallid bat), bat behavior, bat identification, bat morphology, service agreement language for bat removal and guano removal, seasonal restrictions, inspection techniques, equipment, safety, detailed exclusion techniques, job pricing, decontamination techniques, rabies, bat handling, updated white-nose syndrome information, and much more. This course is a one day, classroom style training course taught by Certified NWCOA Instructors. Upon completion of this course and successful passing of a test, the WCO will become NWCOA Bat Standards Complaint Certified. Student will also receive a certificate of completion, have use of the logo mark in marketing materials and will be listed on the NWCOA Website. This course is a prerequisite to the NWCOA Certified Structural Bat Management Professional Course (Part 2). The NWCOA Bat Standards Certified Course (Part 1) will replace the NWCOA Bat Standards Compliant Course. Current holders of the Bat Standards Compliant certificate will be required to take the Bat Standards Certified Course (Part 1), at a reduced price, in order to be eligible to take Part 2.

NWCOA Presentation of Bird Barrier America, Inc. Certification Training Course

Birds cause untold millions of dollars of damage to homes, commercial properties, government buildings and industrial facilities. Droppings, nest materials, and ecto-parasites pose serious threats to structures and the people who occupy them. The Bird Barrier America, Inc. certification training course will help you determine which bird control product is suited for solving any bird problem and how to install that product on your client’s property. Upon completion of this course and successful passing of a test, the WCO will become a Bird Barrier Certified Installer and receive a certificate of completion.
